Prek-2 (toute petite section) – French Immersion Preschool for 2-Year-Olds in Miami
Toute Petite Section (Age 2)
A gentle introduction to school in a nurturing French immersion environment.
Our French preschool program in Miami Shores* welcomes two-year-old children as they take their first steps into school life in a caring and stimulating classroom setting.
*(PreK2 only available at Miami Shores campus for 2026-2027 school year as of now)
The Toute Petite Section (TPS) welcomes children from age two and offers a gradual introduction to the world of school. In France, this class is considered part of preschool, as formal schooling begins at age three with Petite Section.
TPS marks the first step of the student’s introduction to school, where they will gradually discover school routines, interact with peers, and begin developing independence through play and guided activities.
Learning Through Play
Daily activities support key areas of early childhood development:
• language development through songs, stories, and conversation
• socialization and cooperation with peers
• motor development through movement and outdoor play
• creativity through art, music, and sensory exploration
These experiences encourage curiosity while helping children become comfortable in a group setting.
Bilingual Environment
Children experience full immersion in French, developing language naturally through songs, stories, play, and daily routines. English is used when needed to support communication and ensure a smooth transition into school.
No prior knowledge of French is required. Young children naturally acquire language through daily exposure and interaction, and early bilingual exposure supports confident language development.
Toilet Training
Toilet training is an important part of the program as children develop independence and self-help skills. Families are asked to continue daily potty training at home to support steady progress.
Adaptation Period
At the beginning of the year, children who need it can benefit from a flexible adaptation period, with short visits that gradually increase according to each child’s comfort and needs.
